“The second I arrived in Milan and put my foot to the train station platform, I saw all of the things we’ve had in the store for all these years; they almost looked like they were floating in the air. They were rushing through a train station, on wheelies, on people’s backs, on their arms; shoes, bags, belts, on men, women, children. Everyone looked amazing. Not every single thing was the most expensive, but everyone looked like they wanted to express themselves via fashion. I can’t explain why it was that way but it just blew me away.

So the last night we’re in Milan, I wanted to find a special place to eat, somewhere local and authentic and a little bit fancy. My husband and I saw this group of seriously well-dressed men and I thought to myself, I want to go where they go for dinner– so we said, “Excuse me, we hate to bother you, but we heard your english and we’re only here for one night, do you know where we should go?” They let us know that they were in fact on their way to a place called Paper Moon and recommended it highly.

Shortly thereafter, we ended up there for dinner. This place was amazing– it looked like nothing but it was a place to be seen. I had a seat facing the door, and honestly, one woman after the other, after the other was dressed impeccably. One woman was wearing Versace sunglasses at night, with the right belt and the right cocktail dress; another woman followed with a 35 cm croc Kelly in a white linen skirt suit. Then I noticed her watch, a Cartier diamond watch that they don’t make anymore that we sold here 10 years ago. If it were to be bought now it would probably be $80,000.

The point is, I saw stuff that we have on our shelves that aren’t the Birkins and the Louis’ that just looked so chic. Everyone looked so chic, it just took my breath away. I started stalking our own sight, and it’s all here.”
